I am a clinical GC; I generally see adult patients (occasionally children but not very often) and my primary areas of practice are oncology, cardiology, and specialty prenatal (translocations, UPD, etc.)
I had the opportunity to start a brand new clinic at Medical City Plano right out of grad school, so if you find yourself in the same position, I'd be happy to talk to you about my experience. I also work at Medical City Dallas one day a week (when my clinic flow allows) because I love the collaboration and camaraderie I get to experience with those GCs/GCAs.
Prior to becoming a GC, I was a social worker/case supervisor for CASA, working with children in foster care. I'm always happy to talk about social work; it will always be a passion of mine.
I have undergraduate degrees in both psychology and biology and I graduated from OU's Genetic Counseling program. Boomer!
