Emily Berenson received her Master of Science in genetic counseling from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in May 2020. During her graduate education, she completed a clinical rotation at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, in addition to other locations throughout North and South Carolina, including Medical University of South Carolina, Greenwood Genetics Center and Atrium Health. After graduation, she joined UT Health San Antonio as a genetic counselor in their Pediatric Hematology Oncology clinic. Emily is also involved in the GRACIAS Texas (Genetic Risk Assessment for Cancer in All of South Texas) program within the Mays Cancer Center where she provides high risk cancer screening and cancer genetic education to underserved communities. Her research interests include the psychosocial impact of comprehensive tumor surveillance for hereditary cancer syndromes such as Li-Fraumeni syndrome.
